The Ministry of Economy and Finance was founded in 1871 in the Aile Richelieu, one of the north side buildings of the Louvre Palace, along the Rue de Rivoli.
In 1989 the offices were transferred to a purposely built building located next to the Parc de Bercy in the 12th district.
The 230,000m2 and 370m long massive white building is commonly known as Bercy, but many also call it the Fortress of Bercy!
