Summer in Blue

Summer started a few days ago and despite the appaling weather flowers managed to bloom.
Sadly a lot got damaged and flattened... but those that survived are gorgeous!


Summer is supposed to be the warmest of all the four seasons...


Very few of us in Western Europe were able to enjoy our gardens in the last few weeks.
Weeds were thriving in the rain and it was impossible to have a go at them as the soil was saturated with water and clung to the garden shoes...


But it seems that the sun has decided to come back in the last few days and I just hope summer will start now!  A little bit of sunshine awakens the blue colour of the flowers which vary in intensity as the day progresses.

Here is a small selection of plants and shrubs, they are all different and all have their place in the garden or against a wall as this one below!

And here is the modest Forget-me-not, at least an hybrid from the same family which has the same tiny delicate flowers, but doesn't spread or invade the garden...
