Summer in Pink Roses

A garden without roses won't be a garden!
Not only are they pretty but most have extraordinary fragance.
Roses are at their best  for a couple of weeks in the second half of June when their subtle fragrance fills in the air as the day ends..weather permitting!

There are over hundred species of roses; there are new roses created every year but I have always liked the traditional "old" species!

Most original species originated in Asia, and a few in Europe, North America and Northwest Africa and are now found in every garden.

The name Rose comes from  the French word Rose which came from the Latin Rosa.

Roses vary in size, colours and size, some can be nearly 10m high and climb on walls of course but also on trees!

I am really attracted to red flowers and I have to say that red roses are of the best effect on a wall;  they just need to stand on their own as they can be overwhelming as their bright colour make them become the point of focus.
My favourite as you can guess though are the pink roses...

To my all Blogfriends: This is a scheduled post.
Sorry I am away from Blogger at the moment, everything is fine but I am very busy and need to take a break!
I have prepared a series of posts on flowers just to keep in touch with you. I am sorry that I can't visit your great blogs at the moment...I will catch up soon ;-) Wishing you all a relaxing and sunny  summer!  DeeBee x
