I thought I had to share with you this image of the Olympic Stadium during the closing ceremony on Sunday 12 August (yesterday!).
It was taken obviously from the air, late and shortly before landing in Heathrow airport which explains why it is darkish and not that good quality (I had to be very quick and was not prepared to be honest - sorry!), but the flame in the right corner and the giant Union Jack are very obvious!
Hope you all had a great time following these games and supporting your athletes. They all did so well and we can just admire their talent but also their dedication...
Here are a few quotes of the Baron Pierre de Courbetin:
"The important thing in life is not to triumph but to compete.
The Olympic Spirit is neither the property of one race nor of one age.
The Olympic Games are the quadrennial celebration of the springtime of humanity.
The important thing in life is not victory but combat; it is not to have vanquished but to have fought well.
The important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle, the essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well"
